Doncaster's history can be seen at The Doncaster Museum and Art Gallery. It is an award-winning, interesting and contemporary building that houses a general collection relating to Doncaster's history. Weekly markets provide a variety of stalls with miscellaneous merchandise on offer while Frenchgate, Colonnades and Waterdale Shopping Centres are conventional complexes. The Yorkshire Outlet, the American style factory outlet shopping centre, attracts thousands of enthusiastic visitors each year. For a contrast in tourist attractions, The Bawtry Paintball Fields is the UK's largest independent paintball venue and it attracts in excess of 100,000 visitors each year. Doncaster's world famous racecourse has been a major venue for racing since 1600 and from 1776 has held the coveted St. Leger, one of the oldest great English classic horse races of all time. With eighteen bars and restaurants on offer an entertaining, exciting and (if you are feeling lucky), prosperous day can be had by all. Cusworth Hall accommodates The Museum of South Yorkshire Life, set in extensive landscaped parklands; it depicts the changing social lives of local people over the last 250 years. Another country house worth visiting is Brodsworth Hall & Gardens; this Victorian home was first open to the public in 1995. The spectacular circular keep of Conisbrough Castle makes it one of the oldest and finest medieval buildings in England, it is open all year round to the public.

The Dome is Britain’s largest indoor leisure centre. It has no less than six swimming pools with fountains, flumes, wild water etc. The Dome is the ultimate in leisure facilities. As well as splashing around in the water you can fall over in the ice rink, work it out in the fitness village, indulge in the beauty and hydro health parlour, sweat it out on the squash and badminton courts or simply chill to the artists and bands who perform concerts here monthly.
